Sand Dollar Blue Sea Glass Pendant

Seaglass starts out as something that outlives its original use... a bottle, vase, plate, leftover construction material... something that no longer does what it was created to do.  After being discarded, it eventually finds its way to the ocean, where the tides and surf smooth away the sharp and broken edges over time.

Sand dollars are symbolic of growth, transformation, and change.  Many say it's representative of love and forgiveness in its purest form.  In nature, sand dollars are both fragile and tough, surviving even in the rough seas.

This is a one-of-a-kind genuine Hawaiian beach glass pendant, handpicked by my mother and grandmother from a beach near an old sugar cane plantation on Kauai where my family worked back in the heyday of sugar in Hawaii.

It's a nice cobalt blue piece of sea glass; did my best to capture the shade accurately... and it's rather large for this color.
